“The present volume contains the commentary by Father Emilianos, made in the spring of 1987, of the chapters of Abba Teognost on the Acts of the Faith, Contemplation and Priesthood. It is a natural and necessary addition to Fr. Emilianos’ already edited commentaries, based in good measure on his personal experience and made with the aim of transmitting patristic teaching to his spiritual sons, the monks of the Holy Monastery of Simonos Petras and the nuns of the Holy Monastery of Ormylia, as well as to conceal his personal experiences behind the words of the Fathers.
In his interpretation, Father Emilianos follows Abba Theognost, but also the teaching of our Church on the general priesthood, adding his personal experiences, which were occasioned by his mystical encounters with the Holy Spirit and his communion with the Body and Blood of Christ in the almost daily service of the Divine Liturgy.
Father refers to the demeanor and contemplation with which every member of the faithful must adorn himself as a priest, especially the priest who has the sacramental priesthood.”
