This book transcribes in a summarized form the teaching of the monastic life lived by the author in the living word with Joseph the Hesychast. His oral teaching was essentialized by Elder Joseph Vatopedin in the dense chapters that make up this volume. In this sense, here we find the main lines of the teaching of the Elder of the Monastery of Vatopedi, his spiritual testament, the quintessence of a contemporary philocalic thought, formed by experience and sheltered in the sources of the great spiritual Fathers of all times. All the attributes that can be attributed to this writing are synthesized in a single expression: patristic thought.
